The Loneliness of the Lyricist

There can't be too many more solitary pursuits than solo recording. One day sat alone in silences recording guitars and the next sat there recording vocals, day after day.

That's been my lot for October. Probably about 30 songs in. Most with vocals and guitar done. But that's not the end of it. Sat there in solitude your mind here's incidental music parts as the tunes are on playback. Percussion here, a piano there, distorted guitars needed, some more vocals.

So it will be about 4 or 5 passes through every song before any kind of mixing happens but it has been fun so far.

Ready for a show. My next is November 6 at the Tap Room in Yakima where These Guitars Say Sorry will be playing from 7-9 on First Friday. I'll have to remember to play and sing at the same time. Something that in the studio I haven't done at all.

These Guitars Say Sorry can be seen live at The Tap Room in Yakima  on November 6.
